Economic Development Director:
The Economic Development Director position is a cooperative funding effort between the County's Economic Development Authority, County Board of Supervisors, Tappahannock Town Council and Tappahannock-Essex Chamber of Commerce.
The Director is available to assist with your business location, expansion and retention needs. The Director can also assist with publicizing business announcements, coordinating grand opening events and promoting other business activities.

Good Highway Visibility without the Traffic Congestion
Routes 17 & 360 are four lane divided highways of Essex County providing shipping, commuting and recreational access to Northern VA, Richmond, the Peninsula and Northern Neck. Over 22,000 vehicles per day pass through Tappahannock on Routes 17 & 360 and over 12,000 vehicles per day use Queen Street (Route 360) when traveling over the Rappahannock River. 2013 Traffic Counts (Primary Highways)
