The Essex County Board of Supervisors has re-established the Local Board of Building Code Appeals (LBBCA), and is requesting applications from county residents to apply to be appointed to serve on this local board. The requirements to serve on the board are as follows:

The LBBCA shall consist of five (5) members, all having experience in different occupational or professional fields related to the construction industry to the extent possible, with the further requirement that, to the extent possible, at least one member should be an experienced builder, one member should be a registered design professional and one member should be an experienced property manager. Two alternates may be appointed by the Board of Supervisors. Employees and officials of the county may not serve as members of the LBBCA.
