Defend Yourself: Basics for Seniors on Self-Defense, Crime Prevention
Avoid being a target – know what to be on the alert for, how to protect yourself, and how to call for help. Come to the next meeting of the Essex Co.-Tappahannock Triad to discover the basics on self-defense and crime prevention.  We meet May 2 at 10 a.m. at the Historic Beale Baptist Church Sanctuary, corner of Church Lane & Queen Street.

Jay Mitchell, Virginia Marine Police Officer, and Capt. Jacob Siddons of the Tappahannock Police Dept. will equip you with tools to help you avoid being a target and what to do if something happens.

Triad is a partnership among law enforcement, older citizens and their family and friends, and community organizations. Its goal is to enhance the safety and quality of life of older citizens, and people of all ages are welcome. For more information, email the Triad at, or contact the Tappahannock Police Dept. 804-443-3992.
